If Scientism request evidence before assent, tests hypotheses with new techniques and rewards those who find errors with its highest praise, what fault can one have with that system. Unless one is positing a system of knowledge acquisition that doesn't require evidence, doesn't question hypothesis and seeks to silence dissenting views then I can see the conflict.
