i can't help but wonder...all the people crying for prosecution of the Pope...how would their lives stand up to public scrutiny? i am 1 catholic who is on overload with 30 yr old news...what we need to hear are the voices of the good priests who will break open scripture for us now and lead us on our journey to the New Jerusalem...leave the judging to God where it belongs.
ReplyDeleteBut, Mary, those who were abusers did not abuse God. They abused children. Somebody needs to answer for that in the here and now.
ReplyDeleteAnd people are starting at the top because they know from past experience that they get nowhere by starting anywhere else.
I don't think they will arrest the Pope in England. I do think that they will have to carefully choreograph his public appearances to avoid a lot of jeering and rotten fruit on the Popemobile's splash screens.
ReplyDeleteHas anybody read the coverage of the Maciel affair?

Apparently Cardinal Ratzinger is one of the few who refused bribes from this con man. Both Cardinal Sodano and Cardinal Dziwisz accepted money from this group. It is significant that action was taken against Maciel by Ratzinger soon after his election.
There may well be corruption in the Vatican but Ratzinger is one of the good guys. This is nothing more than a lynch mob with far more bloodlust than concern for either truth or justice.
All I can say is ... Pope Benedict is a very strong and courageous man and the devil knows this!

Yes, Benny will always be the Pope. That's the problem, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteTimmy should be Pope.
