Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. The church would like to think and indeed portray that they are being persecuted. In fact, they are merely irrelevant in the way most people think and lead their lives. This has been true for decades now.
ReplyDeleteI posit that irrelevancy, from the churches point of view, is an immeasurably worse fate than persecution. If the church wants to believe that they are being persecuted, if it makes them feel better about their irrelevancy, so be it. It isn't true, though. How are they being persecuted? Do you feel you are being persecuted, Tim. I suggest that you are simply being ignored.
