Catholic leaders covered up abuse of more than 1,000 children by priests in Pennsylvania over 70 years: report

I want to throw up. But I have said since these criminal scandals erupted back in the late 1980's, people understand that there are pedophiles in every vocation and occupation. However what they cannot countenance is the fact that Bishops chose to protect their (and the Church's) reputation rather than protect children and seek justice for their injuries. Perhaps now our Church's leaders will finally understand the damage they have wrought and take the necessary steps to rebuild trust among the faithful. If they don't, they are going to have a LOT of explaining to do when they find themselves standing before Christ as their Lord and judge at the end of their lives. Scripture does not give them much hope if he finds that their actions harmed Christ's 'little ones."
