A St. Patrick's Day gift from a beautiful Irish lady

Sylvia MacEacheran of 'Sylvia's Site' is a woman who has dedicated her free time to shedding the antiseptic light of truth on the sordid accounts of child sexual abuse within the Catholic Church and standing in support of its many victims. She is also a daughter of that beautiful green Island we celebrate today on St. Patrick's Day, a place that animates her soul with the determination and poetry we associate with that fair Isle. Here below is what she offered today on her site that demonstrates the beauty of her Irish Catholic soul. May you find it as comforting and inspiring as I do.

Thank you, Sylvia for your work on behalf of the wounded, for your efforts to promote the purification of the Church you love, and for the gentle steadfastness of your Irish soul. Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Sisters of Life

Here is an excellent website for any and all interested in the pro-life cause. The Sisters of Life are a religious order than began in New York City under the authority of Cardinal Jon O'Connor (RIP) in the 1980's. Their traditional religious lifestyle and clear charism have led them to grow much faster than many other orders. As a result, these wonderful women are moving beyond the boundaries of NYC and have opened a convent in Toronto. The Sisters of Life count among their numbers a woman from our Parish here in Mattawa who is soon to take her final profession. This is one of the greatest blessings that we have received as a parish. Anytime a religious vocation comes forward from a parish community, many graces flow back to the local church. I can only pray that as the Sisters of Life establish their ministry in Canada that more and more women will join
