Good will to all men? Not from the grumpy atheists! (Thank God not all atheists are grumpy but there sure seems to be a lot of them)
Why is it that so many in the atheist community cannot bring themselves to get past their anger whenever they engage in discussions? The language of many of their contributions in public debate is laced with invective and dripping with sarcasm and bile. There are exceptions of course, but they tend to fall more into the category of being the 'exception that proves the rule' when compared to the hostility of many of today's atheist posters. Comment offered by the theists in the public square is often depicted as being 'malicious' or 'venomous' and intended to enslave the 'feeble minded and weak' by those who post. Nothing could be further from the truth. Venom is something that is oriented to death. Christians are oriented in a 180 degree different direction. We speak not to the culture of death that grips our world but rather for the culture of life and light which ends with the gift of eternal life. For example, the Catholic Church in its hum...
Now, I just wish that every Priest believed in the Transubstantiation, but, by their care-free behaviour in the Sanctuary in many cases. it is obvious there is a great lacking in belief.

Jackson: Sadly, you'll get no argument from me. Perhaps though the trick is to pray for such priests and trust that with God's help they might find their way back to the faith.

Father, I believe they never had the Faith to begin with. As in the case of the Newfoundland situation years ago, some became Priests just to have victims readily available to a Priest's whims.
DeleteJackson: I fear you're right again. Becoming a priest is an easy way for a wolf to make his way into the sheepfold... as history as made all too clear. Still, I know that at least some of them did have the faith when they were ordained and either because they let slip the disciplines of the priestly life or due to some psychological defect, they failed in a most sinful, and terrible way... and at the horrific cost they burdened their victims with. I most certainly would not want to be standing in their shoes come the day of judgement, but I still pray for those few anyway.
