Religion, like many things, is about the choices people make.

Who is to say that the choices that others make are good or bad? Anybody may say that anybody else's choices about the spiritual beliefs they adopt are bad. Nobody is free to arbitrarily impose their spiritual laws on others. Those who do this are guilty of bad religion.

A society where all are coerced into believing the same religious model is practicing bad religion. People may modify an existing religion to better suit what they believe. They may be inspired to develop a new religion. They may have no religion.
