Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p. Well written. There is NO EXCUSE!
ReplyDeleteI read with care the part of section 152 that was quoted, and I have to say that before we do anything else, we need to clean up the language in the CCC. The way it's written, any person who offers to shake hands with a child and remarks (before or afterwatrds) to anyone else about the attractiveness of said child can be found guilty of a criminal offense! We need to make that language a whole lot less ambiguous and less open to interpretation!
ReplyDeleteNext thing we have to do is get rid of any language that infers or directs that these crimes have anything at all to do with sex. They are related to sex the same way gluttony is related to nutrition. The mechanics are the same; but the motive is different.
Do those two things first, then we can actually start the process of cleaning out the trash, because we will have cut away 90% of the "defense" ammunition.
