Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p. Reflections from the pastoral ministry of an Evangelical Catholic Priest.
Question - Somewhat off topic (I really hope it is when it comes to Syria)
ReplyDeleteI had a debate on strangenotions.com with several Catholics about my pet peeve (okay one of them) that too often Catholic ethical teachings or media treatment of Catholic teachings concentrate too much on sexual issues and that if more discussion were on non-sexual morality non believers and believers might realize that they do have much in common. Long preamble to my question. I raised the issue of the Iraq war and how the Catholic Church said that is was not a just war and that many atheists would agree with that. I had much disagreement on this among Catholics.
Is this a valid interpretation of this document ( http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/secretariat_state/2003/documents/rc_seg-st_20030219_migliore-security-council_en.html )?
Thanks
