  1. Have you read "Major Pettigrew's Last Stand" by Helen Simonson?

    It's not scientific or theological but was one of the best novels I've read in years and really uplifting.

    1. Rationalist: Thanks for the book suggestion. I read it yesterday while sitting on my cottage deck enjoying a beautiful summer's day. It was the perfect book for the occasion! Much enjoyed!!

      P.S. My T.V. here at the cottage was killed by a guest last week so I'm getting in more reading than expected this week... A pleasnat development imho.

    2. My wife sent that book out to all her friends as Christmas presents last year.

      I spent the weekend rescuing our garden from the weeds and managed it (for now). Now we have a nice bench under two apple trees to read.

      Our TV is still an old CRT (bought for $20) with no converter or cable. Haven't watched it in weeks. It's wonderful.
