Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p. *sigh* 'Nother grand waste of time and taxpayer money...
ReplyDeleteI would be happy to sponsor a bill that would put the financial burden of all the stoopid stuff on the personal doorstep of the members responsible. If they want to waste time and money on idiocy, they have to pay for it themselves!
I can understand this if we've seen cases where they've been used to attack people. But I'd be willing to let them wear it if thats not the case. I think a background check could be in order. If the guy has a record of violence it would concern me as an MP.
ReplyDeleteIt could pose a potential security threat in another scenario. If a person bent on murdering a politician managed to obtain press credentials, they could pose as a Sikh and walk right up to an MP with the murder weapon getting a free pass through security. Tough call really.
Cheers
Paul
