Dutch bishop calls for sex abuse investigation | Fort Mill Times - Fort Mill, SC

Here is an excellent model for Canada to follow. Such an investigation would serve to illustrate that, while offenses were wrongly dealt with in the past, the situation is currently not as dire as what passes as 'common knowledge' today. Speaking only for myself, I would appreciate any action which would establish the fact that the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of all priests are, in fact, both holy and kind. Perhaps such an investigation would allow us to win anew the confidence of the faithful, many of whom have had their faith sorrily tested by the infidelity of a few priests and Bishops.

  1. Priests aren't any less holy and kind than anybody else but no more than anybody else either. That's what most people think.

It's the truth and probably have to be good enough for you. If it wasn't that truth, you'd probably be spending your concern on other issues this morning.

All good things must come to an end

Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p.
