Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p. Reflections from the pastoral ministry of an Evangelical Catholic Priest.
Amazing how people will believe this one. Married people who abstain are supposedly more holy than normal people, regardless that the Bible does not support this interpretation. The reason for this interpretation I believe is to elevate Mary, and portray her in a way which will provide the most gain for the RCC. She is to be a role model for women. Women must be that they will be able to fill all the jobs in subservient, unquestioning, and unmarried so convents, hospitals, and schools around the world with spending-money wages.
ReplyDeleteSTG, I must agree with you on this one, as the purpose is simply to elevate Mary and defend RC doctrine.
ReplyDeleteThe Scriptural evidence presented was indeed weak, and needs a lot more scholarly study to be accepted as viable. It is unfortunate that more Protestant scholars do not comment on topics like this on more blogs.
