If God didn't want us to have a lot of sex, he wouldn't have made it feel so good, be so much fun or so addictive. If God didn't want us to have a lot of sexual partners he wouldn't have made us be so sensorily attractive to each other.

    1. Anon: A juvenile argument! Sex is an appetite. Just as with food, too much is not good for the health. (Watch 'Supersize Me' if you need proof of the dangers of over indulgence.) God created us with certain desires to bring us pleasure AND to perpetuate the species. Too much emphasis on either half of that equation is a sin of immaturity and sinfulness. We are rational animals. We know how to rein in our appetites both for our self-interest and for the welfare of others. It's part of being civilized.

All good things must come to an end

Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p.
