Not really a mystery Father. Not all women want children. Some put career before family. For others the reasons are fiscal. There are women who don't trust their men to practice birth control, and they have more peace of mind being in control of contraception themselves.
ReplyDeleteI have worked in hospitals with women who took the pill because it reduced the horrors of pre menstrual tension and all the awful symptoms that go with it, not always easy to cope with when you have a very demanding job. There will be so many different reasons that will outweigh the risks.

The benefits of taking 'the pill' outweigh the risks of not taking it. That is why sexually active teenagers and women of child bearing years take birth control pills. Older women may take it for hormonal reasons or because of polysystic ovarian syndrome or other medical reasons. And I do believe the risk is miniscule. Almost every woman I know has taken birth control pills sometime in their lives, but I personally have never met a woman who had blood clots as a result of taking them. Even with its faults, birth control pills are one of medical science's greatest inventions!
