The overwhelming defeat of Bill C-384 proved that we can Push-Back the euthanasia lobby in the US and Canada and convince people that euthanasia and assisted suicide are a dangerous public policy. Reflections from the pastoral ministry of an Evangelical Catholic Priest.
I read the article and noticed this rather revealing quote;
ReplyDelete"The church sees that as a threat to its authority," Ronan said.
The Church is Christ. Saul was asked by Jesus, why he was persecuting Him.
Acts 9:3–5
And as he journeyed, it came to pass that he drew nigh unto Damascus: and suddenly there shone round about him a light out of heaven: and he fell upon the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:
Therefore Ronan's comment might just as easily read;
"Jesus sees that (female ordination) as a threat to His authority."
Obedience to Rome is obedience to Christ. Any desires or ambitions sacrificed for the kingdom will be given back multiplied and overflowing in the world to come. Do we believe this? We must remind each other of the fleeting nature of this world.
Matt 19:29
Douay-Rheims Bible
And every one that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall possess life everlasting.
(or priestly ambitions.........)
It's all nunsense to me. Literally, nun-sense!
