The overwhelming defeat of Bill C-384 proved that we can Push-Back the euthanasia lobby in the US and Canada and convince people that euthanasia and assisted suicide are a dangerous public policy. Reflections from the pastoral ministry of an Evangelical Catholic Priest.
Is it all catch and release? or do you keep some fish to eat?
ReplyDeleteJulie: You're entitled to eat all you want and take out a limit of fish. I tend to keep the ones that were about 1.5 - 2.0 lbs and release those smaller or larger. This past week, my fishing companions caught a number of walleye that topped 5 lbs.
ReplyDeleteThe fishing is so good because of the fact that the lake is part of an exclusive fishing/hunting zone. This means that the lake has had almost no fishing pressure. There are only 7 cabins on the lake... and if you're not in one of them... you cannot fish the lake. On top of this, the owner 20 years ago built up spawning beds as part of a restocking program... a really, really successful program.

Hey Fr. Tim: By "my fishing companions" do you mean God?
ReplyDeleteHi Larry: Well God was most certainly there, but I was referring to my nephew, and a friend from Lapasse and his son. Two old guys and two young 21 yr olds. We kicked ass in cards. They cleaned up at Risk. We all had a great time.
ReplyDeleteMy best to Arden. Hopefully you've both enjoyed this beautiful summer. It reminded me of the summers when I was a kid.
Fr. Tim
It has been a beautiful summer for sure and we have enjoyed it spending a good amount of time at a farm we bought last year in Quebec near Waltham. I am renovating the inside and we have done a lot of work to the property. We have 2 horses and Melissa has been doing a quite a lot of riding. She took riding lessons for a number of years so she has enough freinds who like to ride with her as well.
ReplyDeleteP.S. My first comment was linked to the comment you posted before you left on your retreat.I just read it and then I read this.
ReplyDeleteLarry: I understand your confusion. I had access to a second cabin where I spent my days in silent prayer and reading. I returned to the main cabin to cook for the gang I brought in and for some evening entertainment.
