The Impractical Catholic: Calling things by their proper names

  1. That article was disturbing. Not so much that "Cisco implicit claims a right to monitor your speech off company time, off company premises, in social contexts where you can't be reasonably understood to represent company policy, and make employment and disciplinary decisions based on that speech.". Yes that's disturbing but companies have a right to refuse to hire people that would bring the company into disrepute (and he has a right to sue). But that the Catholic Church would knowing hire and continue to employ a white supremacist is something I wouldn't have thought they would do. Surely that is a sin and should warrant saction or dismissal.

All good things must come to an end

Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p.
