Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. Vatican putting best face on a serious loss of face. The U continues on as the premier institution of scholarly pursuit in Peru. Vatican thought they could make them fold under threat of forclosure on the physical plant and endowment. That's not going to happen.
ReplyDeleteThis is a grave portent if other Church institutions in So, America decide to "go private". There will be at least some. Possibly many. Some church communities themselves may decide to split off and take their sanctuaries and schools with them. Power to the people, eh?
