Sexual Orientation: Is It Unchangeable? | Psychology Today

H/T to Suzanne at 'Big Blue Wave' for this article. I can't really decide what weight to give to the author's conclusions but it's published by Psychology Today, a reputable source for the interested 'non-experts' in the field.

What do you think?

What's your sexual orientation, Father Tim?

I feel by design we are heterosexual (a basic understanding of our plumbing and how it works points to this) but I think sexual desire can be learned as well. We see in different cultures and times that deviation from heterosexuality was common place, accepted and popular where in other times and cultures it is not. I think a person can learn their sexuality.

All good things must come to an end

Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p.
