Good will to all men? Not from the grumpy atheists! (Thank God not all atheists are grumpy but there sure seems to be a lot of them)
Why is it that so many in the atheist community cannot bring themselves to get past their anger whenever they engage in discussions? The language of many of their contributions in public debate is laced with invective and dripping with sarcasm and bile. There are exceptions of course, but they tend to fall more into the category of being the 'exception that proves the rule' when compared to the hostility of many of today's atheist posters. Comment offered by the theists in the public square is often depicted as being 'malicious' or 'venomous' and intended to enslave the 'feeble minded and weak' by those who post. Nothing could be further from the truth. Venom is something that is oriented to death. Christians are oriented in a 180 degree different direction. We speak not to the culture of death that grips our world but rather for the culture of life and light which ends with the gift of eternal life. For example, the Catholic Church in its hum...
Once again proving that there is essentially no difference between gays and straights when it comes to marriage and children.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is.... poor kid!!

Isn't it strange how different people will look at the same story and come to different conclusions or have a different view. This is a sad situation for the child. An abnormal family situation has been created which might never be satisfactorily resolved. This is not how God intended families to be. The correct family unit is one husband and one wife, or at least if there is only one parent as in a single parent situation, then a father or a mother. But the situation described in this story obviously has led to conflict and it appears will not provide an emotionally stable and satisfying upbringing and life for the child. The confusion in many people's minds about this subject has helped to create this problem. Once again we need to get back to the Bible. The traditional family is one of the building blocks of a healthy society.
ReplyDeleteChildren are a gift from God...since they are not possessions how did the word "ownership" become part of this very sad story?
ReplyDeleteSadly nobody gave much thought to the welfare of children in this social experiment. What a mess for this poor child and many more like him.
ReplyDeleteWayne is right. Venture from God's plan for human sexuality and all hell breaks loose.

"Once again we need to get back to the Bible."
ReplyDeleteAnd once again, you need to realize that most of the people who live in this world do not recognize your bible as an authority of any kind.
Paul, this is not a social experiment. This is merely another case of a surrogate's changing her mind at the last moment. It has happened before, and it will happen again, unless a very tight contract is drawn up and signed by all parties beforehand. It has nothing to do with sexuality.

ReplyDeleteGay marriage is the social experiment. Giving rights to two men or two women that have a sexual relationship to raise children that their relationship, by its very nature could never produce is an unprecedented social experiment.

Paul, get a grip, willya? Men and women have been living in marriage relationships for thousands of years, and in some societies, quite openly, to the detriment of none. Children raised in such relationships are no different from children raised in other relationships; the precise same ratio of them have exactly the same "problems" as everyone else.
ReplyDeleteLady Janus has given me her personal assurance that everything is going to be just fine for the kids and has been for the thousands of years of gay marriage. Thats a relief.
