An old anti-Catholic law has resurfaced in Georgia

  1. Seven states in the US have in their state constitution clauses banning Catholics from holding public office. It's not enforceable as the 1st Amendment overrides it but occasionally an elected official is taken to court over it and has to fight it in court. So far they have always won.

Why does no one do anything about it? Because it's not banning Catholics, it clauses banning non believers from holding public office.
