Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p. Isn't that just awful!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a misleading headline. The Quebec course does not teach that all religions are equal. It only treats all religions equally. It's a world religion course similar to a world history course. You would learn about Islam and its many variants but they would not add at the end that here's where Islam is wrong and our religion is better. It's the same as the History course where students should be taught about the reformation and counter-reformation without being given a religious bias to the events.
ReplyDeleteRationalist: Actually the headline is pretty accurate. The course material does indeed say that all religions are equal in as much as they are the structuralized belief systems constructed around 'myths'. In short, all religions are equal because they are all false.
