Earthquake rattles residents in Ontario, Quebec | CTV News

A Quiet Place
YIKES! That's right down river from Mattawa. The place here certainly rattled and rolled for a few moments this morning. It must have been a lot stronger down in the Pontiac where my cottage is located near where the earthquake was centered! Happily I can report that according to my neighbors down there that there's no evident damage done to any of the properties in the area.

It's been quite the year for we folks who live along the Ottawa River. Historic high water has flooded most of we cottagers - I still have 3-4 inches of water in mine, down from 2-3 feet that flooded it for the past - and then today's shaker. It's enough to make one wonder what's coming next? A plague of locusts and the four horsemen of the Apocalypse? Good thing I believe in Christ's admonition not to be concerned if we hear of earthquakes and other disasters. If I didn't I'd be spending all my time with an eye cocked to east to see of the parousia was at hand given the run of bad luck that the folks here in the Upper Ottawa Valley have suffered through this year.
GO SENS GO!!

Still, come flood or wind, earthquakes or alike, it's still the best place to live in Canada! After all, our beloved Ottawa Senators are the only Canadian team left standing in this year's NHL playoffs. That's gotta count for something when it comes to determining just how blessed we Valley folk really are, eh!!

You just can not leave it alone, can you Father? Now you talk about *LUCK*. Where did you find that in the Bible, or the Catechism of the Catholic Church- or was it just something you picked up in the Seminary?
You are a strange one !

    1. Rationalist 1. Until you have something to contribute to the spread of Christianity, why don't you take a hike. No matter your long-standing relationship with Fr. Moyle, you really are just an interloper!

  3. Harris: You are a terrible example of a Christian: intolerant and disrespectful. The comment above is the last one fromn you that I will permit to be posted. Any subsequent comments will be directed into the spam folder from today onward.

    2. Mike: ??? Is that a prediction, (not much of a risk considering we'll all die) a wish you hold, or a threat?

      Just curious.

Good will to all men? Not from the grumpy atheists! (Thank God not all atheists are grumpy but there sure seems to be a lot of them)

Why is it that so many in the atheist community cannot bring  themselves to get past their anger whenever they engage in discussions? The language of many of their contributions in public debate is laced with invective and dripping with sarcasm and bile. There are exceptions of course, but they tend to fall more into the category of being the 'exception that proves the rule' when compared to the hostility of many of today's atheist posters. Comment offered by the theists in the public square is often depicted as being 'malicious' or 'venomous' and intended to enslave the 'feeble minded and weak' by those who post. Nothing could be further from the truth. Venom is something that is oriented to death. Christians are oriented in a 180 degree different direction. We speak not to the culture of death  that grips our world but rather for the culture of life and light which ends with the gift of eternal life. For example, the Catholic Church in its hum...
