  1. I hope you realize that this link is over two years old and has been debunked.

I think given the headline and your position, father, it deserves an explanation...

    1. Suzanne: I didn't notice that it was an old story! It was included on my RRS feed yesterday as a new one. Given the headline and topic, it seemed an important story since it was announcing a 'major change' in Church policy.

Thanks for pointing out that this is an old story that has already been refuted.

  2. This article was published today but seems to have been authored 2 years ago in November of 2010.

What do you think happened here? Was it suppressed for some reason? I don't think it's a reprint.

This seems to be a fairly big step back by Benedict from previous statements on condoms. Wonder how the Vatican's rarified little garden of purple pansies will spin it, don't you?

  3. Is this legit? Will the Vatican subsequently deny it?

Also, unrelated. Now that it appears that Romney has pick Catholic Paul Ryan as his VP candidate, will the US Catholic bishops stand by his condemnation of his budget. All good things must come to an end

Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p.
