Good will to all men? Not from the grumpy atheists! (Thank God not all atheists are grumpy but there sure seems to be a lot of them)
Why is it that so many in the atheist community cannot bring themselves to get past their anger whenever they engage in discussions? The language of many of their contributions in public debate is laced with invective and dripping with sarcasm and bile. There are exceptions of course, but they tend to fall more into the category of being the 'exception that proves the rule' when compared to the hostility of many of today's atheist posters. Comment offered by the theists in the public square is often depicted as being 'malicious' or 'venomous' and intended to enslave the 'feeble minded and weak' by those who post. Nothing could be further from the truth. Venom is something that is oriented to death. Christians are oriented in a 180 degree different direction. We speak not to the culture of death that grips our world but rather for the culture of life and light which ends with the gift of eternal life. For example, the Catholic Church in its hum...

ReplyDeleteFreyr: YES SIR!! It is a blessing that the top nations in the world in the game of hockey hail from North America!! It's only natural that we would come out on top... just look at the map!! Summer Olympics belong to you. The games of ice and snow belong to us.
ReplyDeleteCanada is the best and most faithful friend that America will ever have; their single greatest source of imported energy and the largest source of fresh water in the world. In every major world conflict that follow our assumption of full sovereignty in striking an independent foreign policy from that of Great Britain, the blood of Canadians has mingled with that of Americans. World War I & II, Korea, and first Gulf War. From the ethnic conflicts of the Balkans and Africa - to Afghanistan and other covert actions in the war on terror, whenever asked, Canada has done its part. Our relationship is not one of neighbors. We're family, dude.
Pride in country is in no way an insult to either of our two nations both on and off the ice!
It was a great Olympics with all the essential trophies (Most overall medals - USA; Most EVER Gold medals at one winter Olympic - Canada) residing for at least the next four years on our continent.
Now if Mexico can win the World Cup, it would be the perfect continental trifecta!
