Inch by inch Mr Trudeau 're-affirms' his fundamental lack of judgment and fundamental incapacity to be a leader who is to be taken seriously.

The left, both in the U.S., Canada and abroad gladly champion the notions of freedom of thought, expression and diversity of views...............provided they all agree with THEIR ideology!

    3. Fr. Ballard - While I don't agree with Mr. Trudeau's absolutism in demanding that all Liberal candidates be Pro-Choice, I find it ironic that many that decry the intolerance of diversity of opinion the part of the Liberals enforce a similar uniformity amongst their membership.

Hi there! There is no question that various dogmatic truths form the heart of our life as a church and would fall into the category of 'infallible' teachings. I am thinking of the central dogmas of belief in Christ as Savior, belief in His full divinity and humanity - many articles of faith which we would call core beliefs. There are of course many other areas where people will make choices based on conscience and their own personal life of prayer.

Of course at the very foundation of our Church life is the ability of one to go in the door or out at their own choosing. No one is forced to belong to the church and many who do belong hold certain beliefs, particularly in the moral realm, where they do not agree with the official Church teachings.

Where does a potential Liberal candidate go who may be 'Pro-Life'. It would seem that Mr Trudeau has closed the door entirely. Of course he fails to realize that a potential candidate may be prepared to say anything they want to hear in order to run for office. They are, after all potential political leaders!

How ironic that the son of the 'father' of Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms would embrace such a view. Maybe Pierre 'picked up' something with his visits with Castro!

  2. There is some who the Cardinal was a little too polite and should have smacked Justin a little harder, and banned him from communion.

I'm not so sure his comments were too polite. His letter was to the point and very direct.

With respect to banning Mr Trudeau from communion, I do not think that is even within the competence if the Archbishop of Toronto since I don't think Mr Trudeau even lives in the Archdiocese of Toronto. Such a ban would likely have to be imposed by Mr Trudeau's local Ordinary.

I am not sure anymore if using Holy Communion as something as a 'reward' is the best approach theologically or otherwise. As I read more about Pope Francis, he appears to be of the same mindset. Besides, it makes no difference if Mr Trudeau never darkens the doors of the church.

Don't expect anything from the local archbishop. He's too busy getting his picture taken and saying nice things about his auxiliary.Like most Canadian bishops he rarely if ever rises to teach.I believe the letter ought to have pointed out that Catholics in grave sin ought not approach the Sacrament.Trudeau's statement was public and rejoiced that his party will advance the cause of abortion.

  5. Have you ever actually mourned for the death of an individual unborn human being? Do you 'fight' for real people or is it your own wonderful
ideas you feel you need to be saved?

    1. There has been many a tear shed for the unborn, not sure what your intent was with your question? "Wonderful ideas" is a bit of a stretch, because Christians clearly know abortion is wrong, while this "idea" is backed up by science, technology, and research. "Wonderful ideas" hardly, think again!
