  1. Welcome back. Hope you had a good vacation and sorry to hear about your priest friend dying so unexpectedly.

  2. Rationalist: BEST vacation I've ever had! Great resort (Jewel Resort:Runaway Bay), great friends, and super weather (although no snow would have sufficed to be 'good'... 80+ and sun every day was exceptional!)

The only thing that made me sad was snorkeling along the reef. When I was there 10 years ago it was teeming with life and color. Now it's almost empty of fish and the coral is dead or dying. I wish the fools who deny the effects of climate change could have had the same experience. Maybe it would open their eyes!

Still, this one point did nothing to dampen my enthusiasm for the place. I'm going to start saving right away so maybe it won't so long before I get to return again.

  3. Sounds great. My wife's American so we can't go to Cuba but I've had friends come back and say how wonderful Cuba is. My nephew studies fish and has said the same about diving in the Carribean on reefs and don't get him going about our fish stocks. Alas what a mess we're making of this planet we've woken up in.

I'm glad you had a good vacation and hope you're well rested for the big Easter week.

    Very troubling.

All good things must come to an end

Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p.
