Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. "Hath not a [None] hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? Fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer as a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not bleed?"
We mourn like you do but more like a wake than a solemn funeral mass. It involves being more personally involved in the process rather than leaving it to the clergy.
I too want Ave Verum Corpus played at my wake, not for religious reasons but because it's the most sublime 43 bars of music ever written.
