Catholic and Lutheran Churches pledge to work for shared Eucharist

  1. InterCommunion is not possible as things stand now.JP11 made it clear that women could not be ordained as the Church had no authority to do so.The Lutherans have 'ordained' women to both priestly and bishopric ranks. But neither has the power of the priesthood.Perhaps Rome could,as it did for the Anglicans, have a Lutheran ordinariate ? That could be the beginning of unity? That would be worth celebrating.
