Woman says she is a cat trapped in the wrong body - she hisses at dogs, hates water and claims she can even see better at night - Telegraph

If it is our subjective experience/decision that is supposed to be the determining factor in establishing our gender, then is it ok for this woman to be legally treated and accepted as a cat? Instead of providing an ambisexual washroom, shouldn't she have the legal right to demand a litter box for her to relieve herself? Or does she have the right to urinate wherever she wishes in public to be able to mark her space and 'communicate' with other 'human felines'?

This is what happens when we strip physiology of its determinative power to legally establish our basic identity attributes.

  1. Approximately 0.05% of births have infants with in-determinant sex organs and the hospital in consultation with the parents assigns a sex. About 1 in 20,000 have mixed genetic sex chromosomes and are biologically mixed. No human mother has ever given birth to a cat.

    1. Michael: I'm currently engaged in an excellent conversation with a lady on Facebook that seems quite knowledgeable about transgender issues. I am learning quite a bit. But I doubt that it's going to bring me as much of a smile as your closing line of this comment!

  2. It's something I'm learning about too. I had a friend who switched teams, so to speak. I don't understand it, but I support him, err her. One of my favourite books is the three volume set Pax Britannica by the Welsh travel writer James and now Jan Morris. He started the series and she finished it.
