Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p. Reflections from the pastoral ministry of an Evangelical Catholic Priest.
Where is the Lazarus in each one of us. The weak and the vulnerable one that has been hidden away from ourselves and others. Has he been buried deep within …a place where the stench of death is frightening and revolting ? Do we go about our lives avoiding and denying that the tomb of the dead Lazarus is here and now within? Are we afraid that we cannot be loved if anyone finds out or even gets a whiff of the stench?
ReplyDeleteJesus asks to open the tomb. He is not afraid of death. He shudders with deep sorrow that in our relentless craving for human glory , we burry the one He loves the most. There is no ‘free’ will until Lazarus has been risen.
