Romanian Catholic priest gets two years in prison for money theft | National Catholic Reporter

I posted this article not because of the issues specific to it but out of wonder that this priest who stole money is given a 2 year jail sentence whereas many priests who stole the innocence from children by sexually abusing them often get off with a far lighter sentence. Which is really more important: money or children? This story seems to indicate that the court system (just like Bishops who covered up for predator priests) has their priorities all mixed up.

How painfully sad.

  1. How painfully sad indeed...thank you for taking this position..when the institution acknowledges that harm that has been done by pedatory "men of the cloth", perhaps we "the people" will return..lets hear from your bishop, perhaps he will have something to say to the good people of Pembroke without the presence of "his" legal team.

All good things must come to an end

Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p.
