Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. ReplyDeleteBut I can't help to think about all those jobs the German Bishop was able to give. So many people were employed just to mention a few, carpenters, painters, construction workers, decorators, artists, All those workers were paid and were able to pay bills and feed their families too.
Anon: Sure lots of people were hired but to what good end? Does that justify a $12,000 bathtub? The Church could have used the money to build social housing or a hospital that would have served the common good instead of a lavish mansion to house a prelate.
