Living L’Arche: Celebrating 40 years

  1. I hope sometime soon we can get together so you can tell me about your meeting with Jean Vanier. The most amazing thing about this man for me is the way in which he opened himself up to the wisdom and love of Jesus - not by 'helping' the weak- but by allowing himself to be helped by them to recognize his own 'disabilities.'
Just like messages from Jesus, Jean Vanier’s messages have life giving meaning in them which can be perceived with much more clarity by the ‘weaker ones out there’ and by the broken one hiding in each one of us.

  2. Larry: Meeting Jean Vanier and sharing a meal with him was a highlight of my life! Hopefully over the Christmas season I'll have the chance for a few consecutive days off at my cottage and we can share the memory. Perhaps we can find a time to get together then. I'd be happy to host you and Arden at my cottage - or it's easier, I can always come to where ever you are. (Pembroke or farm)
