Pope Francis lifts suspension on Nicaraguan priest, poet

MANAGUA, Nicaragua — Pope Francis has lifted the suspension imposed in 1983 on Nicaraguan priest and poet Ernesto Cardenal, the Vatican’s ambassador to Nicaragua said in a statement Monday.
