  1. So much for the ' Shepherd' who is guided by the ' I don't count the sheep ' theory!

  2. And how may I ask does one 'compromise' on divorce. An example of the 'compromise' would be interesting.

  3. That must be a difficult pastoral issue. I have a number of formerly Catholic cousins and friends who have been alienated from the Catholic Church because of divorce. One cousin had such a horrible ex-husband that her lawyer refused payment for the divorce. He said she had been through enough. Perhaps that's something the pope could take into account. People today marry cautiously, divorce for the most part with reluctance and with good reason, and need to keep living their life, including trying again for happiness. They need to be forgiven, like that lawyer did for my cousin.

  4. A few possible ways to get around this problem:
    1. Redefine marriage
    2. Redefine divorce
    3. Sell annulment tickets at weddings. One per marriage, valid for the life of the marriage .Non refundable.
    4. Divorced persons may receive sacraments on only odd Sundays of the month pending collection counters report after the even Sundays of the month.
    5.One divorce per marriage.

  5. 6. Could also start up a Monday weekly mass just for divorced people, gays and lesbians with convicted and suspected pedophile celebrants. Perfect way to separate the sinners from those who are not sinners.
