Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p. Reflections from the pastoral ministry of an Evangelical Catholic Priest.
It’s one thing to observe a correlation but it’s quite a leap to conclude that the correlation is a causal one and even if it is a causal one , is it in the right direction to support the Pope’s claim?
ReplyDeleteThis sort of proclaiming false ‘victory’ serves nothing but to detract credibility from legitimate and sound arguments supporting the ‘pro-life’ side.
Also life expectancy is Russia has dropped dramatically over the last few decades. Maybe contraception causes early death.
ReplyDeleteNo Rationalist1, the drop in life expectancy in Russia has been directly correlated to a decrease in drug and alcohol abuse. In Canada where drug and alcohol abuse have been on the increase over the past few decades, life expectancy has risen over the same period of time. This is why in Ontario we want to bring alcohol into our corner stores and legalize drugs.
ReplyDeleteThere is clearly a significant correlation here.
I for one - after my visectomy- am on my way to the liqour store
I think if I pursued that medical procedure would have to go to the liquor store first. :->

ReplyDeleteNo surprise here at all. It does nothing to change the momentum in the course for the future of humankind though. There always has been and will continue to be those who lag behind and resist change, progress and growth.Jesus refers to these as "the dead."
Actually , I have just now seen the brilliance in this proposal. “Let the dead look after the dead.”
ReplyDeleteLarry I'd love to see the scripture passage that you think backs your idea that Christ would count those that don't support two homosexuals getting married as "the dead"?
ReplyDeleteI don't think you are telling the truth 'Anonymous.' Isn't true that you'd hate to see it?
ReplyDeleteYou aren't telling the truth 'Anonymous.' Isn't it the truth that you'd hate to see it?
ReplyDeleteDon't concern yourself whether I'll love it or not Larry, just back up your claims with the scriptures that support it. Or are there any? Jesus never concerned himself with offending people with the truth, nor should you, if in fact that is what you speak.
ReplyDeleteYou aren't prepared for it Anonymous.
