Canadians not near death gain access to assisted dying as Senate passes Bill C-7

... And we're picking up speed on the road to hell as another 'guarantee' that was promised us by politicians to protect us from euthanasia falls to the wayside. When every advocacy group that speaks for the disabled and mentally ill states that this change is a threat to their clients and the government does it anyway, you know there's going to be trouble. The fact of the matter is that once we broke down the barrier that prevented the state from taking an innocent person's life the only protection we had was a politician's promise. And that's about as substantial a foundation for protection as a snowbank in the Spring. Rest assured, we will all come to rue this decision at some point in the not too distant future.

All good things must come to an end

Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p.
