Praying the prayer of St. Gertrude for the souls in purgatory

"Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for those in my own home and within my family. Amen."

This beautiful prayer was shared with me by a parishioner who's sanctity and holy character would put even a holy priest to shame. It's a prayer which she repeats to herself every time she is aware that she is 'thinking empty thoughts' so as to continually keep the spiritual needs of others first in her mind and heart. We should all follow her example, both for our own edification and salvation, and for the myriad of souls released from purgatory through the graces won on their behalf.

Here it is again.

"Eternal Father, I offer you the most precious blood of your divine son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for those in my own home and within my family. Amen."

Repeat often and whenever necessary.

All good things must come to an end

Well, it's been a hell of a ride, laying rubber all over the road for the past decade. But it's time to call it a day and park the Rogue in the garage. Effective today, I am shutting down my blog to focus my attention on other endeavours. My thanks to the more than 2.7 million people who regularly joined me on these sojourns through news stories over the years that dealt with the places with issues of religion and faith intersecting with public affairs. May God bless you with a continuing desire to learn about and help disseminate the issues of faith throughout the public square. Happy trails in your continuing travels! Fr. Tim Moyle, p.p.
