The limit needs to be how other people, especially children who have no say in their religious beliefs and practices. It can be a difficult to distinguish what is appropriate and what is non appropriate. Being baptized as an infant is innocuous enough, leaving no lasting physical or even mental effect, being subject to female genital mutilation is totally wrong. But then could one argue male circumcision falls into that category. Refusing life saving medical treatment is wrong, but not vaccinating children against HPV is arguable. Difficult choices, when things are not black and white.
